Was trying out a bit of quinoa for the first time. Colleague of mine brought me about 2/3cup. Her instructions to me was cooking the quinoa with slightly abit more water. So I googled up some cooking method and reviews. Tried it today looks good.
Here's what I have.

1. Clean 1 cup of quinoa like how you clean the rice. Keep it soaked for about 5 minutes. Rinse and drain the water.
2. Place the cleansed quinoa in a pot. Add 1 cup of water.
3. Heat up the steamer and put in the pot of quinoa.
4. Cook at high heat for 10mins. Then reduce the heat. Stir the quinoa. By now you should be able to see the quinoa turning translucent with a white ring.
5. Continue cooking in the steamer for 5mins then off the heat.
6. Don't open up the lid yet. Keep it on until the water is completely absorbed.
