Cooking - Hambāgu Steak

During one of these MCO days. Hubby bought like 1.2 kgs of minced pork. I'd really gotten lost of what to do with it. Until there's this cooking session in the NHK World Japan, it shows us how to prepare the hamburger steak. Of course you may noticed that my title writes Hambāgu. Yes, that's how the Japanese pronounced it. I didn't really follow the full recipe as the ingredients at home was rather short of it.

5 cloves Garlic
One medium Onion
2 tbsp Corn Flour
5 tbsp Cracker Crumbs (recipe calls for bread crumbs)
2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Seasoning:
2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce / Red Wine (if you have / preferred)
Salt
Pepper

Preparing the steak:
  1. Chop Garlic and Onion.
  2. Saute the garlic and onion. Set aside to leave to cool.
  3. Prepare the minced pork, add corn flour, cracker crumbs, and the sauteed garlic and onion. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Divide the mixture into two parts. Use left to right tossing motion at average speed to release the air from the meat. Do for both.
  5. Heat up the oil in a pan in medium heat. Place the two meat in the pan and press and indent at the middle of the meat to fry the patty.
  6. Fry until one side is browned then flip to continue frying on the other side until brown as well and bring it out from the heat and put on serving plate.
  7. Continue from the pan's cooking oil, add the Worcestershire Sauce, Salt and Pepper and cook for a bit. Remove from heat once it begins to bubble. Pour the sauce over the the meat on the two plates.
  8. Serve with rice and some side dishes / salads.
